She's Got Kids

If your fiancee already has a child, (or children), you will probably be able to bring the child to America once the K-1 visa is issued. An unmarried, minor child (under age 18), of your fiancee gets a "K-2" nonimmigrant visa status from the parent, (your fiancee), so long as the child is named in the original petition.

If the child doesn't come to America at the same time as your fiancee, so long as the child comes within a year of the issuance of the K-1 visa, you will not need to file again for her child. A separate petition is not required if the child follows your fiancee within one year from the date of issuance of the K-1 visa.

If it is after one year from the issuance of the K-1 visa, then a separate immigrant visa petition is required for the child.
